FAQ
Here we try to answer some of the common questions you may have about whenUrent.
1) What is whenUrent.co.uk?
whenUrent.co.uk is a website which is based on tenants reviews of privately rented properties. Users can review any privately rented property they've lived in over the last two years and when they submit their review, it then becomes available for other prospective tenants to view.
2) Is it free?
whenUrent.co.uk is a completely free service for tenants.
3) Are you a property lettings website?
No. We are completely independent from any landlord or letting agent and aim to give you, the tenant, a fair and unbiased idea of what a property is like. All the properties that are listed on whenUrent have been put on and reviewed by tenants, we don't have lists of vacant properties uploaded by landlords or letting agents. Once reviewed properties are on the site, we do allow landlords or letting agents to mark them as being available when they become vacant, allowing you to search for available properties should you wish, however we are completely separate from any landlord or letting agent and aim to offer an impartial service at all times.
4) Can landlords and letting agents use this site also?
Yes. Landlords and letting agents are welcome to register on the site as a landlord or letting agent, which will enable them to respond to reviews and access all areas of the site. It's a great place for them to get to know and understand their customers better. We will be offering services to landlords and agents, allowing them to put their contact details next to properties, group all their reviewed properties together and see their average statistics.
5) How do I find out more about a property someone has reviewed?
You can use our forum to message the writer of the review directly if you wish, as well as using it for general discussions also.
6) Do you check or edit reviews before they become available to other users?
Whilst we have software programmes in place to pick up on common swear words, we do ask that the writer of the review is happy to take full responsibilty for its content and use sound judgement to make sure the review is as objective as possible and will not cause unnecessary offence. Please refer to our terms and conditions for further information regarding this.
7) How do I report a review I believe to be inappropriate?
Underneath each review you will see a function to "report this review". Simply click on this and enter some text to tell us why you believe the review to be inappropriate and we will investigate as soon as possible. Alternatively, email us at info@whenurent.co.uk, tell us which review you wish to report and why and again, we will investigate as soon as possible.
8) How do I remove a review I have written?
You can edit or update your review at any time, however if you wish to remove a review completely, please email us at info@whenurent.co.uk and tell us which review you wish to remove. There will be a small charge for doing this.
9) Can I review a property I'm still living in?
Yes. You can update your review at any time, so if things do change over the period of your tenancy, you can update your review accordingly. It is wise to take into consideration your relationship with your landlord or letting agent when writing a review, if you are still living in a property owned or managed by them. If you believe that your review may cause any kind of problem between the landlord / letting agent and yourself, we would recommend that you wait until the end of your tenancy to write a review.
10) How do I get more information?
Email us at info@whenurent.co.uk.
